Notice Regarding Spike and Upcoming Updates

Hello Dino Friends,

Recently a petition was posted on Sludge’s Webosaurs Blog, Webosaurs Gang. Simply stated, you have spoken out and expressed that you are less than satisfied with how updates have been rolling out recently. Mostly that Spike was released before he was fully available to the public. The petition has collected almost 50 signatures in support of the action.

As you know, we have been working extremely hard on cranking out some sick updates for you guys. As with all game development ventures, things don’t always go as planned and some items (like the forum) have been delayed as a result. We think our players are the best kids on the Earth, and we want to make sure that you are happy with everything that we give you.

You have spoken up, we have listened. Starting right now we are removing Spike from the site and will not bring him back until he is fully ready as a character for purchase and in the games. I do have a few announcements to follow up.

  • The Webosaurs Forum will be officially released this Tuesday.
  • Dance Animations will be available for purchase in the Bluggin’ Beach Bunker in a week. You will be able to use these for your MVA videos.
  • Blogosaurs will begin playtesting on Fossil Magic on Tuesday as well, with the hopes of releasing it to the site in the next two weeks (Check the Blogosaurs section of the Forum for more details.

That is just a taste of what we have coming up. New clothing items will be coming out in the near future, Webosaurs Badges will be released as soon as possible, and we have a few more things cooking up in the development kitchen as well!

Thank you for speaking up and telling us how you feel. Our number one commitment is to make sure that you guys are getting the content that you want. Let us know of anything else that is on your mind as well. We’re very excited for the release of the Forum on Tuesday and everything else we have in store.

Best,

Head to the Croc Peninsula to get in on this awesome game where you SMASH crocs in the head with a mallet! Sounds too violent? Nah, think of what the croc would do if you didn’t get to it first! Put those slimy lizards in their place and win some major coins!

Daily Dino Fact: Ballad of Big Al

Hey dinos, Silu here with the Daily Dino Fact! Today’s fact comes from EB and tells the story of a very unique Allosaurus named Big Al. Enjoy!

This is a story of an Allosaurus found in North America. 95% of his Bones were found well preserved. But he died not even full-grown and the bones were found in the same position of which he had died in. He has Many Injuries and some were found even healing. One severe injury was a swollen foot, but overall he had 11 broken bones in total. Rib injuries were thought to have been made by the whip of a diplodocus’ tail, and yet he broke his tail by falling down. Ripped arms could have been cause by fighting a female Allosaur. Females are much large and more aggressive than males. But even though big Al too all these injures he got killed by a drought, dying next to a dried up river bed, but he could have died of starvation because the swollen toe would have ended his hunting days. He died just at the age of six, not even reaching adulthood. This was an extraordinary creature, but a sad story.

Corny Joke Matinee

Prepare for a night of laughs because it’s almost time for another Comedy Night here on Webosaurs!

Let’s face it. It’s hard to come up with new, funny jokes every Comedy Night. This Comedy Night will be a bit different because now we’re specifically looking for corny jokes. Come prepared with the cheesiest, lamest jokes you can think of and have a great time laughing about how un-funny we all are! And since we’re not competing for the best joke, everyone that tells a joke wins. All participants will have a Pirate Flag delivered to their cave as a participation prize.

The Corny Joke Matinee is Saturday, September 4th at 12:00 WST. Meet in the Lizard Lounge on Jurassic server. Remember that each dino gets one turn to tell a joke. Dinos will be called up by name to come on the stage and show off their lack of comedy skillz. Please do not go on the stage unless it is your turn.

Good luck!

Dance Party with Stretch – Friday

Awwww yeah, it’s time to party. Lately we’ve seen a lot of Horns and Rexxy, and I know you’ve been asking to see our boys Stretch and Pterry. So I was talking to Stretch and he was all like “Yo broceratops, I’m like, totally down with that.”

Word, so of course he wants to host a dance party, even if he just sprained his foot (sounds like an excuse if you ask me). This might be your chance to take him down on the dancefloor! We’ll be pumping up the number of coins being given out on Dance Party just for this party.

Meet Stretch at the Tonto Plateau at 14:00 WST on Friday in the Jurassic server to get down on this rockin’ event.

However, the meetings aren’t closed off to only Pros – they are more like Town Hall style meetings for everyone to discuss island business. Everyone has an equal stake in Webosaurs and we would love to hear what is on your mind. Come by and chat, but please remember to be respectful as we try to run our meetings in an organized fashion!

Where: Rolling Hills Chamber

When: Tuesday, August 31st – 12:00 WST and 16:00 WST

Pterry’s True Science – Double Asteroid All the Way!

EUREKASAURUS! It’s time again for another edition of Pterry’s True Science!

As we learned a few months back, the debate over the cause of the extinction of the dinosaurs has finally come to a close. A group of 41 paleontologists and scientists concluded that a giant asteroid slamming into the Earth is now the universally accepted explanation.

However, new evidence has come to light that suggests that two asteroid crashes may have been responsible for the extinction. The Chicxulub Crater in the Gulf of Mexico was the site of the originally discovered asteroid crash. A second site, the newly discovered Boltysh Crater in Ukraine, may prove that multiple asteroids crashes led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Yikes!

The impacts at the Chicxulub Crater and Boltysh Crater took place thousands of years apart from one another, but still close enough together to raise some questions. Some scientists speculate that an entire shower of asteroids may have struck Earth around 65 million years ago. If that’s the case, expect to hear about more impact sites in the future!

Such a fascinating discovery, but now it’s time for me to get back to my research!
